Hannah Swirnow

In founding Center Ring Therapy, Hannah set an intention to put connection at the center of her practice, and to provide evidence-based therapy that catalyzes growth, helps get past obstacles, and empowers people to live a more fulfilling, less stressful life.

Hannah earned her MS in Occupational Therapy from Columbia University. Hannah’s professional experience spans a range of settings including acute care, partial-hospitalization, telehealth, schools, and home. She has completed specialized training in interventions for executive function–based challenges, functional cognition, and self-regulation skills. She has advanced training in addressing functional impairments related to anxiety and enjoys supporting families in building routines that promote confidence and independence in children of all ages and ability levels.  Hannah tailors sessions to her client’s goals, resources, challenges, environment and priorities. Her work is strengths-based and designed to complement the care provided by therapists, neuropsychologists, and other providers where applicable.

At the core of my practice is an optimism that things can improve and change.

Rebecca Swartz

Rebecca’s goal as a therapist is to train and support parents, teens, and young adults with strategies to regain control in their lives, support their growing children, and build healthier habits. As co-founder of Center Ring Therapy, she sought to build a judgement-free practice that offered a supportive environment for parents to share what’s going on in their lives and with their children. The same is true for teens and young adults. Whatever is challenging you does not define you, and Rebecca is excited to be your partner in success!

While studying Occupational Therapy at Columbia University, Rebecca returned again and again to this simple but powerful idea: daily activities matter. Small changes to routines, habits, and how we function day to day can have a big impact on emotional health, behavior, and participation in everyday life. She began her career in the Mount Sinai Hospital (NYC) rehab department, doing acute rehab for patients with traumatic brain injuries (TBI). There, she honed her skills as a practitioner, and gained a strong understanding of what it takes to rebuild executive functioning from the ground up, and to get patients back to living a functional life. Rebecca then shifted her area of practice to children, working in NYC public schools. She worked mainly with middle schoolers, many with ADHD, who, despite their intelligence, struggled to succeed. Rebecca learned through this work not only how to help these students, but also how critical it is for parents to be involved. I firmly believe that when the whole family unit works together, we can achieve remarkable things.

HOW WE WORK

Our Approach is Collaborative, Practical, and Built Around You

Center Ring Therapy supports parents who are raising children with ADHD, anxiety, executive functioning challenges, and other complex behaviors. As occupational therapists, we focus on practical, evidence-based strategies that help families create sustainable structure, strengthen emotional regulation, and build independence in everyday life. Our work is collaborative and individualized. We partner closely with parents to identify meaningful goals and develop tools that work for the real-world challenges of family life.

Our work with parents and services for teens/young adults focuses on creating support to build the skills they need to function more independently. We bridge the gap between knowing what to do and actually doing it. Our functional cognition approach focuses on how thinking and action come together in everyday life, helping clients build practical skills, follow through, and figure out what to do when things don’t go as planned. We approach problems with a strength-based perspective. We move beyond sticker charts, planners, and timers to adapt to your reality and find things that work, in real-time.
